Meet Our Newest Team Member!

Mary Keough ​

Education and Background: I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2011 with a degree in English. I loved my time at NIU because I was able to do three of my favorite things: read, run, and drink coffee.

Running Experience: I started running in middle school and continued in high school where I ran varsity cross-country and track all four years. Since then, I’ve been running recreationally, mainly in local 5Ks and 10Ks. This spring, I ran a 10K in March and placed first in my age group, which sounded great until I found out there were only 3 girls in that group, but I did get a medal so I was pretty happy.

Favorite Distance: I love running half-marathons because the participants are hilarious! The last half I ran there was a man wearing a to-scale model of the Eiffel Tower and his wife ran next to him dressed as a French maid. Now, I’m thinking about dressing as Prefontaine for my next one, mustache included.

Favorite Thing About Working for NRC: The staff! Everyone is so knowledgeable and friendly, I love feeling like a part of a team again.
