New Balance 1080v11 Shoe Review

The New Balance 1080 is a high cushioned neutral shoe, a popular option among runners and non-runners alike. Only following behind the New Balance More in cushioning, it is surprisingly lightweight for its category. The 1080 also delivers a blown rubber outsole on the bottom of the shoe that will enhance durability and traction.

The upper is made from an engineered flexible mesh material, giving the shoe a sock-like feel and fit from heel to toe. The “Ultra Heel,” or the flared shape around the heel, provides a secure, comfortable fit.

The plush softness of the Fresh Foam X makes the 1080 great for both those looking for more shock-absorbing protection from the ground, high mileage runners, and anyone in between.  Not a runner? The 1080 is a great option for long hours on your feet or an everyday shoe!

With New Balance’s Fresh Foam X keeping the shoe soft and lightweight, the 1080 is capable of being a long run or uptempo shoe. Some might prefer “less shoe” for shorter interval work, but if you’re looking for a shoe that can do it all, the 1080v11 checks all the boxes.

The Fresh Foam X found in the previous version of the 1080 was so well-loved, New Balance kept the bottom of the shoe the same. The changes are found in the upper of the shoe with the engineered mesh being more flexible than last year for an improved fit in the toe box. You’ll find another small change in the heel cup, slightly tweaking the fit for a more improved locked-in feel.  

We believe if you enjoyed the 1080v10, you’ll enjoy the 1080 v11. If you’ve never worn the 1080 and you’re looking for a soft cushion, come on in and try them on!
