Under Armour Flow Velociti Wind Shoe Review

The Flow Velociti Wind is a breakthrough shoe from Under Armour. Quite possibly the most tested shoe from UA to date, the Flow came as a result of innovation, new product design, biomechanics testing, and athlete and consumer feedback. 

After three years and over 130 elite athletes running more than 11,000 miles during wear testing, Under Armour was ready to debut the Flow Velociti, with no other shoe quite like it on the market today. The shoe comes with a new foam called Flow, which offers equal traction and cushioning without excess rubber on the outsole. 

The upper on the Velociti comes with a newly designed mesh called Warp. This design is all about wrapping and supporting the foot without added tension, while still providing enough flexibility to move naturally with your foot strike. 

The Velociti is engineered with just one midsole unit, offering the new Flow cushioning technology.This innovation of Flow foam came to fruition in UA’s basketball shoes with the line from Stephen Curry. His signature shoe, the Curry Flow 8, was the first to use this new technology. The foam showed to be so effective in terms of strength and grip, so Under Armour began incorporating it into other footwear channels.

Because of the make up of this midsole foam, you won’t find a traditional rubber outsole on the shoe. Under Armour has treated the foam to be rubberized which cuts down on excess weight, without risking the loss of traction and durability.

Finally, if you're looking for a way to track running or walking activities, the Flow Velociti comes with a “MapMyRun Pod” embedded in the shoe. This connects the shoes to your phone using Bluetooth and can show a map of your activity along with pace, distance and other activity data. This technology is incorporated in all of UA’s run lines.
